Getting the HPV Vaccine Protects Your Child from Certain Cancers
As parents we love our children and want to protect them in every way we can. The HPV vaccine is recommended to prevent disease and a number of cancers for our children later in life. This series of three vaccinations is best administered to boys and girls aged 11-12 years, when children have a better immune response to the vaccine and before they are exposed.
HPV, or Human Papillomavirus, affects over 79 million Americans. Almost every person who is sexually active will acquire HPV at some time in their life. About 14 million people, including teens, become infected with HPV each year.
